Today I was outside with my little almost two year old brother to go puddle jumping. I was suprised at how much joy both of us could find in such a small activity. We both got muddy and wet but we laughed so much! And it was so cute, he kept looking down in the puddle at his reflection trying to touch it and trying to figure out where it went when he jumped in the puddle. The suprise on his face when I splashed him in the face and the delight he recieved when he did the same to me. We came back in extremely wet and somewhat cold, but we had had a ton of fun!!
The reflection I see when I look down
Is not one I often have seen
There is not a single sound
As I look down at me
I don't see who I've thought I've been
I see who I could have been
Who I would have been
Without God's work in me
It's a scary thought to think
That I could have been this person I see
But before I take another blink
My brother has splashed me
And just like God's amazing grace
I've been washed clean
and it's amazing to think of this new face
I've recieved and that is now seen
I thank God because it's by His work alone!
I praise God because I have now been shown
By His victory death has been over throwned
So I praise my maker and I praise Him alone!
Nothing good we do can be done without Him!

That was absolutely great! I think the best one you've done yet. Just one question; Who started the splashing? ;)
First comment! (That's hard to do on your blog)
haha... thnx. Um, I started the splashing ;).
And well job for being first to comment. haha.
I haven't been the first to comment in a while.
Mud.
hahaha.
SWEETNESS!
(6th comment haha-do I get a prize or something?)
That's right Mattea! You got a prize... no kidding...actually I am kidding ;). Luv ya girl, no doubt, no doubt in my mind
.
Love your poem Dell! I guess I haven't checked your blog for a while (or updated mine...) - keep it up - you're a great big sister!!!
~ME
Amen to that Tai....I like it Dell!
pretty good poemy thing. i like.
of course! older sisters usually start fun things like that. and then end them. after all, sinc we're gonna get blamed for it guilty or not...
haha.
writing poetry is cool.
!
Indeed, its like that, to some extent at least, with older brothers.
hahaha... yes, we who start the parties often have to end them... what an interesting role we have! ;).
Mud is much fun. Poetry is cool. Yay for older brothers (PJ's here right now, lol). and that's all I got.
We are always held responsible whether we did it or not.
I don't know what you're talking about.
I always get blamed, and I'm not the oldest.
hahaha... it's not the same with guys.
Perhaps not in a family setting. But at social events and things, the oldest person who happens to be there always gets blamed even if it wasn't their idea....
but were they participating.
and that's what matters.
Well, you don't have to be participating neccessarly, you just have to see it and not stop it.
yeah.
it's brutal.
tell me about it.
Ummm... ok: when you are the oldest, you get blamed.
so....I found fifty dollars the other day.....
no way!!!
UUUMMMM....you went from talking about mud splashing, to get blamed for things you didn't do, now to 50 dollars!!! Randomness...but hey, it's all good.
I found $50 dollars several years ago in a wegmans...we turned it in though....I never found out what happened to it....theres always the possibility that it got pocketed....cuz when we told our like wegmans-friend-worker-guy about who we gave it (the money) to he just kinda said (not straight forwared like this) "I don't trust her". So, I hope whoever lost got it back....other wise I sure would have wanted to have it. (hehe)
I didn't really find fifty dollars. It was just a good subject change.
FINE!!! You LIAR!!!! Just kidding...
question.... dell, how many siblings do you have??
Hey you guys! Guess what! We found this HUGE watermelon growing down in our woods! Weird huh!
lol
wow... weirdest thing ever mattea ;).
I've 6 younger siblings and kinda one older sibling (PJ's a college kid that stays with us during the summer... so we think of each other as sister and brother).
Good subject change.
Dell...friendly reminder from your little sister...Update...please!!! Not that this is getting boring but....yeah, you get the point
Oh it IS getting boring.
I haven't been this bored since I read all of the original Ben Hur while being stranded on a little life boat after the cruise ship that I was on sank due to a very large shark taking a bite out of it's hull. Of course I had very little time to get off the cruise ship while it was sinking, so I had to choose what I would take with me on the life boat. It was between food and entertainment and I chose entertainment because I figured that our current position was far from any tropical islands and well outside the regular shipping routes, so it would be a long slow death even if I had food, but at least it could be a long, slow, (and most importantly) dramatic death if I brought the original unabridged Ben Hur to read as I starved.
Unfortunately I soon realized the the original Ben Hur was far from entertainment, and I drifted for two days in utter boredom, and unbearable thirst.
But instead of dying a dramatic death I happened to wash up on a desert Island and became the king of the natives there for a few weeks, then made a canoe and came home because the climate didn't suit my northwestern background.
I am almost that bored.
out.
Goodness!
I hear you though on the BenHur... I read that and I totally thought it was lame (actually I don't think I got through it). Next time you're stranded on a life boat and you have to have the choice between food and entertainment I would say go with entertainment and get a GA Henty book! Beric the Briton is a good one ;) (I'm reading that one now).
That's all I got and I will update... someday. lol.
YEAH!!! DELL'S GONNA UPDATE SOMEDAY!!!! give her a round of applause everyone!!!
UUUMMMM...one question...how did you get off the island?? Did you fly? lol
the movie Ben Hur is a lot better then the book (though I don't know why I am saying that cuz, after all, I've never read the book).
Super color scheme, I like it! Good job. Go on.
